HP Pavilion DV9000 17" Laptop
For someone wishing to move up the ladder of second hand laptops, without breaking the bank, this is for you. Firstly, upgrading to a 17" screen from a 15.4" is joyous. It's like having room to swing the metaphorical cat. Web browsing is a real pleasure. The quality of screen is very nice too. Bright, clear and easy to read from. Granted it's not the fastest laptop available out there now but if you don't have the money to go and buy one of these £500+ machines then I think this is a good compromise. If you're upgrading from an old Acer or Satellite Pro with a P3 or similar processor you will instantly notice the speed increase. Apps open faster, browsing is swift and multi tasking is a piece of cake. My one gripe however is the OS, Vista. I hate Vista with a vengeance, give me XP any day of the week, it's far less resource hungry. The full keyboard layout including number pad is also very nice and not all 17" laptops have this. It's not for everyone though, some people would prefer the extra hand resting space either side on a reduced keyboard layout, but not me! I type quite a few numbers in and find that this is rapidly achieved with this keyboard. The Synaptics touchpad is sleek and responsive with a nice finger slide page scroller (not like the pants Sentelic one on my MSI Wind!). The DV9000 is well equipped with ports galore and various card reader slots, DVD burner and built in webcam. This is all rounded off with a well built, sturdy case with high gloss black lid. So to summarise, if you want to update your 5+ year old laptop to something a little more 21st century without destroying your bank balance you could do far worse than buy one of these sleek machines. !!!!!FOLLOW UP INFORMATION!!!!! After a very short period of use this machine developed a pretty major fault. After much head scratching and online research it was determined that there was a design flaw with the motherboards, namely causing the graphics chip to overheat and probably other components too. HP were aware of it and if the machine had still been in guarantee then they would have repaired it, however it wasn't so they wouldn't. In fact, HP seem to now deny all knowledge of this problem and have completely washed their hands of it. It seems that the seller I bought my one from had tried to make a repair by doing what is called a "Reflow". This involves stripping the whole laptop down and subjecting the offending component to high levels of heat to "reflow" the original solder. Short term success is possible with this process (I got a whole month use from my one!), but inevitably the original solder will crack again and your machine will be dead once more. My advice based on actual experience of it and hours of research? AVOID THE DV9000 RANGE COMPLETELY. Not just the 9000 but the whole range has the same design flaw. You have been warned. Because of my experience with this laptop I am also downgrading the original rating I gave it.

*Sale Of 2 Bales Catch Mortice Latch 19Mm 3/4 Roller Ball Nickle Plated + Screws
12 May 2017
Poor quality in every respect
I left positive feedback on this as the service and delivery were good, but having now fitted one I am very disappointed. They are far cheaper build that their photo gives the impression of. Very weak spring means the ball is unfit for its purpose. Also the metal plates are thin, poor quailty and actually the ball piece is two pieces (layers). This means when tightening the screws it gets out of shape (warps & bends). Highly disappointing product.
Skullcandy Hesh 2 Ill Famed Green & Cream On Ear Wired Headphone with Microphone

Good value all round
This is the 2nd pair of SK Hesh I have purchased. I'm not a headphones specialist, nor am I looking for Albert Hall quality of sound, but really looking for a decent sound with comfortable headphones at an affordable price. I find the sound good, with a pretty decent bass to them as well as high freq. Maybe the mid range is needing a little more, but that could just be what I'm listening to or my hearing. They're very comfortable to wear for prolonged periods, as the soft ear cups gently encase your entire ear, unless of course you have a head like the FA Cup, in which case you'll need some custom phones designed for elephants :))))) The one down side I'd say these phones have is the inability to swivel the ear cups laterally. The move slightly up and down for head shape, but would like it if they moved a little laterally for even greater comfort. Other than that I'd say they were a great buy for the average user.
