I first heard of this album the year it came out, as a friend of mine who was into both bands that this supergroup was composed of. With the hard hitting vocal power of Pantera mixed with what could only be described as southern rock meets blues/doom metal this one hit home with me. Its far more melodic and less aggressive than Pantera, with a sound that lets the listener settle into a solid groove with all of its hooks, yet still remains far away from mainstream pop. If your a fan of either Pantera, corrosion of conformity, or any sort of blues metal (Black Sabbath) type of sound this album is a must. One of the few metal albums of the 90's with a true sense of direction and legitimacy in an era when metal was a dirty word.
