Very effective replacement
I use this to power my devices in my camper on a 12V system. Works very well as a replacement to device power supplies. I returned and bought several more.

Archos technology is more versatile than TiVo.
I own 2 80Gb units and a 40Gb unit of the Archos 300 series and I must say that this is the most stable fully versatile entertainment unit on the market. Aside from the fact that many of these devices have sizable Hard drives and built-in mics, the AV300 can also get radio with the attachment and record mp3s from the radio, elliminating the need for file sharing risks. I take one of these everywhere I go, including work, which is easily done with the remote and IR receiver/DVR attachment that comes standard. It's easy to set internal the scheduler to record your TV shows while you're away as well. Watch TV/movies in the car! Personally, I use mine for paranormal investigations and a simple solution to setting up IR cameras to record a certain area. How many IPods can boast that ability without a docking station? The battery life can diminish, but that's easy enough to replace on your own. Or use a power supply/transformer.

Archos technology is amazing.
I own 3 AV700 (100Gb) units. I use them all the time and very rarely have any issues. The device allows you to edit videos created by the device, including TV shows, captured by the docking station and set thumbnails as any image from that video clip. It has a nice remote control and internal IR receiver as well as great internal battery life. It also comes with a USB host adapter so that you can add files from a device (camera, external HD, etc) without a computer. It can also control your VCR/home theater power and channel for TV scheduled recording. Built-in stereo speakers are decent too. I carry one of these where ever I go, loaded with 40+ movies, several hundred mp3s, pictures and other files. Watch movies and video anywhere! Truly impressive. It can line-out to any monitor without the docking station, but requires the use of the station for recording an output.
