Beautiful Warm Tone
1 of 2 found this helpful This is a beautiful 8 string ukulele made out of mango tone wood (top, back and sides). Almost the same value of a $1200 8 string uke but manufacturered under the eyes and of Koolau Ukuleles on the Island of Java, part of Indonesia. The finish of the mango sound box is semi-gloss (satin) although Pono has previously sold a similar high gloss model. Bone nut and saddle, with rosewood bridge and fingerboard. One thing nice about the Pono is that it has an adjustable neck truss rod where by you can adjust your own action and it gives extra strength to the neck since it's needed on the 8 string model. Good sound quality and packs an extra punch but not obnoxious. I really enjoy this uke!
