Works great on 1st gen Core i5 laptops

Extend the life and speed of your veteran laptop!!!

Came well-packaged. It was super easy to install after cleaning and prepping the socket and heat-transfer hardware. I used Noctua NT-H1. Worked without issues, pretty much giving a 10+ year-old laptop a new lease on life; it works better than my compact, newer generation 2020 laptop (which has massive thermal throttling issues despite undervolting and external cooling mitigation strategies.) If only I had thought about upgrading the CPU earlier! It works synergistically with other upgrades to SODIMM and SSD, which are all easy to do on older but larger laptop chassis models of circa 2013. IMPORTANT!!! Check online on manufacturer sites, forums and abailable resources prior to purchase to ensure BIOS and physical socket compatibility for your specific model of laptop.
