Great Radio, Excellent Value!

This is a fantastic radio for the folks that want everything in one unit. The price was great (in fact, I ordered it!). Pros: 1) Small enough for mobile/portable yet big enough for your shack. 2) Huge coverage. 160 meters through 70 cm (no 220 Mhz tho...). 3) Bulit-in antenna tuner for HF thru 6 meters. 4) Built-in SWR meter with Hi-SWR protect. 5) Very good manual (but not excellent!). 6) More SDR features than I can comprehend. 7) Digital modes supported with NO sounds card interface required. 8 Supported in Ham Radio Deluxe. 9) Tx/Rx performance has been terrific! Cons: 1) Only one receiver so scope 'sweep' silences the receive audio for about 100 msec (guess). 2) Too many menu parameters to learn and understand (is that really a "con"?). 3) Not the radio for the hams that like CB radio simplicity! All-in-all, this is one fine radio. I would recommend it for a number of Ham Radio interests including digital (I use JT65b for moon-bounce), hams returning to active status after many years of inactivity (me), portable operation, RTTY, CW, etc., etc. Actually it covers so much of the Ham Radio spectrum that it can be used for just about any interest in our wonderful hobby. de N1DH
