Good redundant power supply for Unifi products.
Purchased this used unit to save a bit on the cost of brand new. Received in good condition with a few minor superficial defects. All original hardware and cables received, along with an additional RPS cable, which was a great deal since these can cost 20-30 bucks extra.
These units shouldn't be confused with a Uninterruptable Power supply (UPS), as it's simply just a redundant power supply. It will keep your compatible equipment powered up in the event of a primary power supply failure. There are some other advantages with the unit as well in perhaps a more commercial setting, where there may be redundant supplies of electricity available, such that if one goes out, the other would keep the equipment powered on. Being just a home user, I have this unit connected to a different UPS than the UDM-Pro and USW-Pro that it's connected to. I may switch it to a different power outlet in the wall that is on a different circuit in my house, just in case there's a failure upstream of the outlet(s).
Overall, if you're in need of some additional reassurance of the robustness of your network, this unit should be on your list of additions. Just make sure that it's compatible with your equipment as not all Unifi products have the connection for the USP-RPS.
