Sharpest DSLR lens I've ever used. I don't want to take it off my camera.
It is an easy decision to give this lens 5/5 for picture quality. It is simply the sharpest lens I have ever used on a DSLR. It surpasses my other Zeiss and Nikon lenses in terms of sharpness on controlling flare. I find myself reaching for this lens first when setting up a shot. Only its short focal length prevents me from using it even more. It is quite a large and heavy lens given its 'normal' focal length. If you are down to the ounce in terms of packing for travel, this is not the lens for you. It's has a sturdy all-metal construction but the focus wheel is the smoothest I have ever used. Value for money is a real question given it's cost. I wouldn't want to speculate for others, but as for me I am quite happy with the purchase and am even considering picking up the longer version in the Otus series.
