1909 VDB Cent 1st Yr Issue Meets Criteria for Single Year Variety - Go Abe!
The 1909 is an interesting ONE CENT - 1st year of the Lincoln Wheat Cent, celebrating Abe Lincoln's 100th birthday. Having the designer's initials on the reverse at the bottom is fun addition to a new issue. I have had the coin in several grades & initials VDB are easily seen on many circulated grades, as well as uncirculated.
I've been collecting for over fifty years now. I suggest that with oddities and single year varietals, the higher the grade the better - even uncirculated and certified as RED if possible. Of course, this is as you can afford it - these coins tend to go up in value quicker.
Happy collecting from danielandcompany!
