Rod too short

Item is well made but it does not fit an Econoline door latch. The rod that the button is attached to is too short to actuate the door latch. I was able to remedy this by putting a spacer on the door latch mechanism to allow the shorter rod to work. This button is all I found available so it is better than nothing .
