# PreSonus Audiobox USB MIDI Interface Black/Silver
20 April 2016
Solid rock.
This is a great product for the price. Build quality is awesome. It is as solid of a rock as they say (and show in a video jumping on it and then even driving slowly over it) and the knobs have a solid feel too yet easy to grip unlike on other models. Can't get too much smaller for what it does. Sound quality is awesome too. Cannot tell a difference between it and the M-Audio FastTrack Pro that it replaced (at 1/3rd the price) after that fizzled out. Setup: I've got a Mac with El Capitan and no driver is needed but it initially it would not stay connected/visible and would disappear. Read online that it would not do this if it was connected through a USB hub and sure enough that is true. But then I had terrible latency with the guitar (MIDI keyboard had no latency) and thought it was the fault of the product but now I have it connected through a separate USB extension cable and there is no latency at all. This USB cable has a small buffer but not sure if that is needed. So that's the only reason why I went 4 stars instead of 5 was because I had to stumble across this solution in a forum.
