Quality Plush

Highly Recommended For Novices Looking To Shoot HD Video
eBay has terrific deals on this camera, which is a step up from budget DSLRs. The Rebel SL2 is essentially the same camera as the Canon 200D, and very nearly identical in specs to the Rebel T6i. The SL2 is a wonderful camera that can usually be found for a bit less.
After reading and watching numerous reviews, my main reason for choosing this camera is that it shoots HD video in a snap -- something the T6/T7 (without the "i") Canons do not. But it is still a camera for a novice like myself, with plenty of automated settings -- but also the ability to take control manually if you prefer. It also has wifi / bluetooth / NFC compatibility to a mobile device, allowing you to use the Canon app to download photos (and share easily to social media) or even as a remote trigger for taking pictures.
So far I have only fiddled with the camera, and am looking forward to putting it (and the zoom lens I bought to go with it) through its paces with some Alaskan nature photography when I take it on a cruise this month. So far it is more than meeting my expectations.
The extra goodies in the kit are quality, and useful if you don't already have them. I haven't tried them out yet.
