Superb Value, easy to hit but workable enough to be fun
I liked the look of the R9 and the price was right. I've been a loyal Titleist guy for the past several years, but heard such good things about Taylor Made irons I had to try them. I haven't played with them yet, but took them to the range this afternoon. They are noticeably longer than my AP1s, more forgiving and I can still work the ball. The only complaint I have is there isn't as much feedback when I hit a bad shot. I don't think the grips were stock, but I change to the ones I like anyway. I compared them to the Titleist AP2s and 710 CBs, Taylor Made Tour Preferred CB and CM. I know they're a year old as far as technology, honestly if the price was the same I would have bought the AP2s, but the R9s were $400 cheaper than new AP2s and $200 cheaper than comparable used.

Good Value and a great set of irons.
I am a mid handicapper, I typically shoot in the mid eighties to low nineties. These clubs were described as being for highly skilled players. That may be true, but they are quite forgiving for a "players iron". I bought these because I wanted to get back to the type of irons I learned to play. The pro I was taking lessons with also suggested a club with less offset due to a hook I developed with the game improvement irons. I did lose a little distance due to the loft differences between the CBs and the R9s I was playing before. Losing the hook and the feedback on a bad shot makes up for the lost distance. I've only played them for two eighteen hole rounds and a nine hole round. I took one more club on most shots and added a 21 degree hybrid instead of a 3 iron, but shot my typical 88 and 86 on eighteen and a 42 on the nine. The feel of the forged iron is also a great deal different than the cast irons I have played before. When you hit it flush there is nothing like it. When you don't hit it flush you know it. I would suggest these irons to anyone looking to move from Game Improvement Irons to Player's Iron's.

    Great Ipod
The Ipod I bought was refurbished but if it wasn't in the add I would not have known. It looks and works just like a new one. It charges quickly and it will take forever to fill the memory.
