If I had to do this again, I would!!
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this 'Penryn core' CPU to upgrade the T7100 'Merom core' CPU in my Lenovo T61 laptop with Intel integrated graphics running Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit). Though NOT a huge change, I did notice a small change in the 'snappiness' of my laptop. Not only did this upgrade boost the WEI rating for the CPU, it also gave a modest increase in WEI 2D and 3D graphics ratings. IMHO, the Intel GMA X3100 graphics chip is nothing to write home about as far as raw performance is concerned so any help it receives is a PLUS.
These Penryn core chips are supposed to run cooler than the Merom core chips and that was indeed the case with my laptop. If memory serves me correctly, I saw over a 10 degree F drop in CPU temperature after the switch (noted by Speedfan as well as TPFC V.61). I was most impressed by this temperature drop, especially considering that this CPU is clocked 33% higher than the Merom chip it replaced.
I run a small PC repair business and it has been my experience that COOLER IS BETTER (within reason) as far as PCs are concerned.

NOT as fast as a SSD but at this point in time, much more cost effective.
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this drive 'very lightly used' as an upgrade to the 120 GB Hitachi 5400 RPM hard drive originally installed in my Thinkpad T61 with 'modded BIOS' and running Windows 7 Ultimate-32 bit. WHAT A DIFFERENCE in the 'snappines' of this laptop and this laptop was already pretty fast. Windows 7 WEI for hard drive went from 4.4 to 5.9. I also ran a Passmark Performance Test V7 comparison on my laptop and the Passmark DISK MARK value went from 261 to 570. That's a WHOPPING increase!!
Though NOT as fast as a SSD this was, IMHO, a very cost effective upgrade to my laptop.
I run a small home based PC repair business. When it comes to laptops and desktops too, I have had good luck with Western Digital, Seagate, and Samsung hard drives but your mileage may vary.

Good Basic Calculator
0 of 1 found this helpful This is my third calculator like this. I use it in work for basic stuff because it is compact, has a good size display, and folds like a clamshell. I purchased 7 of these two years ago as Christmas gifts for my coworkers and they liked it as well. The clamshell design protects the display from getting smashed.
The only thing I don't like about this calculator is having to replace the battery. That process is NOT straight forward and it is easy to lose the tiny screws, the little plastic piece in the upper latch, and the calculator can be damaged if you aren't careful. WalMart used to sell these for $4.95. I see people selling these on eBay for close to $30-RIDICULOUS!!
