Dried out rubber
Despite being new old stock, this seal was packaged in 1981, on opening the packaging the seal is badly misshapen and brittle, it very quickly split, better to buy a re-manufactured replacement...
I guess the rubber had lost it's suppleness over the years with storage & different extremes of temperature...

Failed to shut off once tank full
1 of 5 found this helpful Item was used in a classic car to collect moisture over a 3 week period, moisture was collected in tank however the auto cut off did not work. Fortunately, I had the foresight to place the dehumidifier in a 2" deep tray which collected the overflow from the tank. If I had left this dehumidifier running any longer than the 3 weeks, potentially the water collected in the tray would have made contact with the plug in electrical supply... I would not buy this model again...

Didn't catch a thing, despite using various baits. Waste of money...
Would not buy again or recommend...
