Beautiful and Emotional on many levels
Beautiful and emotional on many levels, this film takes you to a place few would be able to otherwise understand.
As a musician who is also losing his hearing, this story touches many a raw nerve for me. The isolation, the outbursts, embarrassments, the inability of others (even family) to understand your condition, and what you are going through. Yet the triumph of Beethoven's genius shines through.
There is a lot of truth to the story line in this movie. It is NOT all a fabrication. Beethoven did pen many letters to his "Immortal Beloved", including one found in his belongings after his death. Exactly who that woman was, we will never know for sure, but this film explores the possibilities.
Gary Oldman (as usual) becomes the character he is portraying. Totally believable. The music is of course fantastic as well, and woven into the storyline very skillfully.
Especially if you are a lover of his music, or just a lover of a great story, don't miss this one!

Perfect fit on SM-7b
Perfect fit on my SM-7b. Should be, since it came from Shure. Sounds better (brighter) than the big fat one that came with my mic. Very pleased!

Remarkable Lens!
Remarkable lens!
I had been using a fairly expensive aftermarket zoom lens from a different (but quite famous) maker on my Nikon D300. Then I tried this one, and the difference in sharpness of the pics is amazing. I'll be selling the other one.
True, it's not quite as "fast" as some higher dollar offerings, but that's what I have a good strobe for...and I know how to do bounce flash. Most of my shooting with a zoom is done outside anyway.
