Very Expensive, But an Interesting Collection

Let me first say...I got a good deal on this. I had been wanting for over a year to purchase, but couldn't pull the string. BEAR FAMILY put together an interesting series. They sound incredible (like all their music, well processed and engineered), but for the price, they could have put many more songs on it. The BOOK itself was incredible, but for me it's the music. A bit disappointing after waiting so long to buy it. BTW: One more thing...It's a HUGE BOX SET and must weigh over 15lbs...so don't be shocked when you buy it. THANKS TO ALL OUR SERVICEMEN and SERVICE WOMEN WHO SERVED AND SACRIFICED! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

READER'S DIGEST 4 DISC CD THE HEART N SOUL OF ROCK N ROLL

ONE OF THE BEST OLDIES COMPILATION SERIES EVER!

At first, i thought they would be re-cuts, but BOY was I surprised! This series came out in the Late 80s - under everybody's radar. Until recently I didn't even know this package existed. The only disappointment was that the 3 Paul Anka songs are not the originals, but the ones he rerecorded in the early 70s - otherwise, this is FANTASTIC. In fact I am listening to it as I type this review. Ironically I had it on before the request for the review. 100 songs from the 1st generation of Rock and Roll. Do-Wop, rockers, back seaters, instrumentals. This series has it all!
