dual SSD Media Docking Station- 10Gbps- 4K ultra HD

Solid Docking Station with a Few Quirks...
I had been looking for an alternative to the Blackmagic Design MultiDock, which is rather expensive, and found this to fit the bill. It makes a great SSD reader for Blackmagic Cinema and Production camera drives, as well as functioning as a RAID backup enclosure. The good: The unit is solid metal and has a nice heft to it. It's not so heavy as to be obtrusive, but heavy enough to not move around on the desk, and it feels solid. The USB-C port is lightning quick and supports USB-C to USB-3.0 adapter cables. My experience so far has been that the connections have been solid and it works as advertised. The bad: My only complaint is that, at least on Mac OSX, the dock un-mounts the remaining drive whenever a second drive is inserted or removed. i.e. You need to eject from Max OSX before adding a second drive in slot 2, and must eject both drives even if you're only removing one. This makes hot-swapping of secondary drives a bit of an inconvenience. Overall, I think this is a great alternative to the Blackmagic version. If you only need space for two drives, this is a much more economical option for editing directly from disk.

Good Value, Good Features, Solid Phone
Purchased a new-old-stock version of the Blackberry 8800 series: the 8820. The phone arrived unlocked; I am using it on the AT&T network. -PRO's: The tactile keyboard is very comfortable to type on. The keys "click" down, giving good feedback while thumb-typing, though they are not difficult to depress. The integrated WiFi is very usable, allowing for faster e-mail downloads or browsing than relying on AT&T's EDGE network. This was also a selling point for me as it allows one to check e-mail when traveling internationally without incurring additional connection charges. The form factor fits comfortably in your hands without feeling bulky, and the phone is lighter than one would expect. The corporate integration capabilities are, of course, legendary. My unit was ready to connect to my corporate BlackBerry server right out of the box, and the integrated setup wizard on the phone makes setting up e-mail and voicemail options quick and simple. CONS: The lack of 3G support means downloading large e-mail attachments and/or web browsing is slower than the newer 3G BlackBerries. The trackball on the 8820 also takes some acclimation, though it works accurately. Overall, I would certainly purchase this model BlackBerry again. The user interface is efficient and familiar, the WiFi features work as advertised, and the hardware is both high-quality and comfortable to use.

Sennheiser HANDMIC DIGITAL Microphone with Apogee PureDigital Conversion
02 June 2020
Excellent mic, great audio quality
I am consistently impressed with the audio quality of the Sennheiser. I produce digital media from a home studio and needed a high-quality mic setup to replace an aging Apogee Duet + Sennheiser 421 for voiceover. This simplified my setup by integrating the Apogee A/D converter into the mic base and eliminating an extra box from my desk. Perhaps since I already had Apogee drivers installed on my Mac, the mic connected with zero setup required. The mic itself has a very similar response to the 421 that I had been using, and the converter (unsurprisingly) is indistinguishable from the Duet that I had before. The microphone has a pronounced proximity effect, similar to the 421. I also appreciate the locking cable cap that secures the cable to the base of the mic. Be aware that the cable is pre-threaded through the cap (you get two caps; one for each cable - usb and lightning), so in order to lock the cable to the mic, you must use the included cables. The base is interesting. It's heavy and stays put on the desk, but is a little on the low side for use as a voiceover mic. It's a cool design, but perhaps not the most practical. My mic ended up on a proper desk stand and the Handmic included stand is now holding my old 421 as a display in the corner.
