Rome: Engineering an Empire
This is an excellent quality DVD. I use it when teaching about Roman Technology in my Global History class. The students seem to achieve a better understanding of what Rome accomplished when they can "see" the results. The use of computer animation to showcase the Roman level of technology is outstanding. If you teach Global History I highly recommend this DVD.
It is difficult to find material such as this that is not either very low level (k-4) or extremely high level (college-post college). This series fits nicely in the middle. The students can understand the concepts and relate to what they have been previously taught in class.
I bought this DVD based on Egypt: Engineering an Empire. Both part of the same series. I highly recommend both.

6 Sacred Stones in awesome
This book is a direct sequel to 7 Deadly Wonders, but it can be read seperatly. It is fast paced action. The story is far-fetched but is really enjoyable. I like to think of it as the TV show 24 meets Indiana Jones. It is loads of fun to read.
