Skantastic
Using this Kinect to scan people and models into a MacBook Air using Skanect free software. Amazing results after 20 minutes. Great to recycle an unwanted product. I think Xbox had an accessory that they didn't make great use of. When I get time to add in a turntable and decent lighting it will be god enough quality to them 3D print models on my 3D printer.

A5 laser engraver works
1 of 1 found this helpful This was a punt. I didn’t want to spend lots of money on one of these so went for a cheap kit. Lots of YouTube videos to watch to see how to assemble. The only tricky part was attaching the belts. I am using T2 Laser software that was fairly cheap but works well. So far just used for engraving wood and bananas. Plenty of power for this. Works well in grey scale. Faster than expected to engrave. I am only using a fraction of the 2000w power so far. Next experiment is a deeper engraving and filling the gap with paint or powder with superglue then sanding. Only try this if confident at making things.
