Whistleblowers: Broken Lives and Organizational Power by C. Fred Alford
Fascinating insight into a little understood subject by a brilliant and sensitive writer. I would be interested in a work that analyzes the psychology of the victimizer. I guess Milgrams' work does that to an extent, quite sad that the price of belonging requires one to abandon ones' values. As a former Army officer who blew the whistle on the Vietnam War and ended up in restraints in an Army mental ward, I see the failure of the American military to establish a formal process for dissent wholly unacceptable, and a threat to national security. You should read this book!
