    Romping good read.
First read this as a teenager. I remembered it as a fun, exciting read. It reread as every bit of that plus much more. This is one of Heinlein's best. Glory Road is packed full of adventure, sexual intensity, idealism and social commentary. Better than I remembered and worth reading again (and again).

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown (2006)
The attention this book has received is incredible. It is simply a mediocre thriller. It is a murder mystery with a tidbit or two of historical fact mixed in with bucket loads of fancy. As a story it is weak. The sidekick is a brilliant woman who is a cryptology scientist, a detective and heiress of yet another brilliant man. She should positively shine throughout this story with its celebration of the glorious nature of womankind. Yet, Dan Brown methodically dumbs her down chapter by chapter to play second fiddle to the protagonist, an art historian. It was a made for the small screen, 1/2 hour TV script, stretched into a novel if ever I've seen one. It is drivel. I'm sorry I read it.
