Use MOSFET instead of NPN
I tried using NPN transistor but it didn't work. I then used a Mosfet and it worked. I powered it with a 7.2v battery.

Good transformer, but schematic is wrong
I tried using an NPN transistor but it didn't work. It worked when I replaced the NPN with a mosfet
