Jewellery box suffers from a noticeable production line flaw!
The jewellery box looks great in natural light but under artificial bedroom lighting the box and two drawers are quite noticeably different colour shades (3 different shades!). The box is dark, one drawer is lighter, the other drawer is lightest. Giving the front a checker board look.
Reversing the order of the drawers makes it slightly less noticeable due to a more gradual reduction in darkness from top to bottom (dark - lighter - lightest) rather than the default drawer layout (dark - lightest - lighter).
This product is obviously production line assembled, with the various components coming together at the end of different assembly lines.
I initially checked this jewellery box in natural sunlight on the day it arrived and was impressed by how beautiful it looked. Unfortunately the flaw was not obvious until my wife opened her birthday present a month later under artificial lighting.
Very disappointing for the price.

An actual truthful review!
2 of 3 found this helpful Wow, so surprised to be disappointed by this product after reading all the great reviews before buying. Nearly every single one of the 20 pieces have one or more of the following faults... a) Glazing very patchy, missing in some areas, lumpy in other areas. b) Bits of blue print markings on the underside of items where it should be white. c) Small chips and popped bubbles in the base ring of some items, most notably on the cups, causing a rough base and rocking when place on saucers. d) Small chips of whatever the items are made out of (earthenware?) are dotted randomly on the underside of nearly every piece, and glazed over! They are hard raised annoying catches that are glazed in place and cannot be picked off without causing an even more noticeable defect.
My guess is the pieces are stacked too soon after painting causing some wet print to transfer, and then also stacked too soon after glazing causing the glazing faults. The bits of randomly glazed on chips are obviously caused by rough handling and a lack of cleaning before glazing (not to mention failure to inspect during and after the manufacturing process!).
Please leave honest reviews for those that rely on these when buying something... Seriously, my last couple of cheap dinner sets from Kmart were far better quality.
