Works very well!
I bought this product for specific images at weddings where I can not hold a light and take the shot at the same time. Although I haven't used it yet in situ, I have tested it out at home. The boom arm is easy to set up on to a light stand, balancing a light is the slightly more difficult part but with a bit of time, patience and ingenuity; I've worked out a way to balance the light at the end of the arm.
