IEM's on the cheap.
For those of us who want a decent In Ear Monitors that don't break the bank the KZ Ates fill the bill. The dynamic drivers do a good job of reproducing music with clarity and a decent sound stage. The Monitors came with two extra sets of cushions and are comfortable. They do a reasonable job of sealing off outside noise at modest sound levels.
Don't get me wrong, these aren't hybrid audiophile IEM's, but they also don't cost anywhere near the amount even entry level hybrids cost.
The IEM body is plastic and the cord is rubberized with an "L" shaped jack. While not as robust as metal bodied IEM's with braided material cords, these seem like they will last through use for a good while if one does not abuse them. And for the price, if they are lost or quit working down the road it is not a big deal.
I may eventually spring for some hybrids, but for now I am well satisfied with these as they are a definite major step up from most earbuds generally available through the big box stores.

For the "Parson-a-holic"
All the songs you know and love, plus the deep cuts rarely heard. Top it off with the unreleased album "The Sicilian Defense". It just doesn't get any better than this.
