adequate if you dont need to count on it

The clock blinks constantly between time, date and temperature. Apparently this cannot be stopped. I has not been all that easy to put the camera in standby mode then start the recording mode. You seem to have to be every close with the remote and hit it just right, then not hit the record button again before giving the blinking light enough time to start. On occasion, I have recorded nothing, and gotten choppy video with real time audio. It does not record well in dimly lite rooms. I have not tried night camera however. In summary it is adequate unless you plan to depend on it.
