Perfect Street Rangers

... as Ian Gillan calls it is a Very Good Album!! Some great songs with killer hooks and riffs - and a few choice lyrics, opening with “Sweet Lucy was a dancer, but none of us would chance her, because she was a samurai” !! Definitely worth having in the collection for any DP Mk 2 fan. Extra tracks were B-sides from the original vinyl singles from 1984. You should chance this album.

Ninety Tons of Thunder!

I'd forgotten what a great record this was. This is Saxon at their very best, playing their best songs one after another, on top form. It's relentless, powerful and no hint of pretentiousness, just good old Yorkshire grit. If there's one band that captured the spirit of hard rock in the early 80s, then it's Saxon. There are additional bonus tracks at the end of the original recording, and these are great too, but have a slightly different feel and sound, for some reason. I think the editor could have done a better job of sewing them together to make it sound continuous, but that's a minor point and doesn't detract from the quality of this CD. It's still 5 stars all the way.
