The Wall

Essential listening.
Pink Floyd at their best. This album moves from quiet reflection, to searing metal anthems, from pop to bombast. The themes and subject matter in the Wall, deal with emotions and feelings that are universal. Loneliness, betrayal, fear, pain, and ultimately hope. This album should be listened to from start to finish, as it takes the listener on a journey into the mind of a musician struggling with relationships, trying to find his place in a world where he doesn't seem to belong. While Dark Side of the Moon may be the emergence of Pink Floyd as something truly unique in the music world, this concept album raises them from unique to undisputed masters of blending imagery, ideas, and sound into a concoction that is much more than the sum of it's parts. Each member of the band seems to have been at their musical peak on this album and deliverers his very best. This may very well be one of the best albums of music ever recorded. Shame I could only give it 5 stars, it deserves at least 10.
1 CENT CD Endless Forms Most Beautiful - Nightwish

EPIC musical masterpiece!
A musical masterpiece. Everything that is good about symphonic metal is on full display with this disc. The musicianship is masterful and the vocals are unlike anything else I have heard in current music. Production is, to my ear, near perfection. I have heard Nightwish compared to evanescence, that is like comparing a Formula 1 car to a road car. While I like evanescence, Nightwish is next level. With the addition of Floor on vocals, they have created a musical force unequaled in current music. The music is epic and expansive, while the lyrics are thought provoking and evocative. I can not recommend this more, 5 stars is not enough...

Powerful Sound
A great disk if you haven't heard their others. The loss of lead singer Lance King on this disk is the difference. The music still soars and thunders, but the assult is blunted by weaker vocals. Thus the ranking of good when it could have been great. Perhaps in the future they will restore the original line up. The guitar work on this disk is exceptional, and is alone worth the price. If you like Savatage, or Dream Theatre, you will like this band.
