Hard work and poor quality
We unpacked the parcel of wood - firstly it looked like an old pallet that had been broken down it was very badly waxed and patchy and blocky where the wax had just been daubed on . The backboards were all warped and we had to bend them straight with weights on top of them. Very poor quality wood in all and you would not think it would ever look like the picture. My husband was looking forward to seeing a lovely piece of furniture but he described it as a load of rubbish. We are in actual fact going to sand it back to natural wood and start again and change the handles so it looks better quality and a better finish so it may be acceptable when finished - it has taken all the excitement of the new furniture out of it for us. It was bought to go with some other natural distressed pine we have but the quality is very different. not for the faint hearted and not the usual flat pack furniture - I as a female I have put many a flat pack piece together but I would not even entertain this. My husband is an engineer so he can make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Its not finished yet as he was so disappointed - hoping it will be soon!!
