Bargain specialist lens
Did lots of research into this lens before buying, and found some mixed messages about quality control, however I tested an example in a shop, and eventually bought one from ebay, and neither had any problems. This lens is designed for cropped sensors but is the only equivalent available to a nikkor 28mm f1.4 which sells for stupid money (if you can find one). Its sharpness wide open is very good and significantly better than my standard 50mm f1.4. its relatively small for a wide aperture hsm af lens and I was easily able to make room for it in my already crowded gadget bag. I was really surprised to find that even wide open in bright daylight this lens still performs amazingly, with no significant flare or contrast degradation (obviously not how you would normally use this lens but it shows how well designed it is) For indoor portraits candids and street photography this lens is awesome. Fast focus and the ability to shoot in all conditions is invaluable which makes this such a bargain. The most significant feature is that I get back an almost equivalent 50mm f1.4 on my cropped sensor Nikon d200, and its better than actual 50mm lenses available.

Under-rated Gem
This lens is extremely good value if you shoot on a cropped sensor dslr. Sharpness across the frame is maintained if stopped down a little. Minimal distortion, some light fall off. Never had a problem with flare or chromatic aberrations. Seems to have great resolving power outperforming my d300s sensor resolution, giving very sharp results on that camera. very light weight. Gives great contrast /micro contrast allowing for superior monotone results. I compared this lens with some famously sharp Nikon manual focus lenses such as the 28mm f2.8 ais, and it was at least as sharp as most at comparable focal lengths/aperture settings. I have used this lens for 80% of my shots for many years, with results that always pleased.

Overpriced and not easiest build for such a simple structure.
These are OK but are far too expensive for what they are. I find they look a little lacking in height also, looking more like a Wendy house if you put a scale person next to it.
They are actually not that easy to build either, as they are simply cut out shapes that needs to have one side fully dried and glued before processioning with building.
I built a far more convincing scratch built version of my own with far more realistic (thin card planks) in only a little more time than it took to build this kit.
