Works well - Some issues
I bought this with very little experience using this style of sausage stuffer, so I'm still on a learning curve. Biggest issue I had was the very first time I used it, the rubber seal already mounted on the plunger plate ripped. This makes it very difficult to use as the sausage mixture pushes up the cylinder making a big mess.
I'm in the process of contacting the company to obtain a replacement. Luckily they included a replacement in the original packaging, but given how the original ripped so easily, I'm concerned about the longevity of these seals. Good news is the second seal survived stuffing 70 pounds of sausage.
Other than the seal, the stuffer worked quite well. The crank handle is a bit poorly designed. A wheel would have been a much better design and I'll likely have one fabricated. The crank's sleeve where it attaches to the crank mechanism could be a bit longer (deeper sleeve on the crank). If you do not have it completely seated it can fall off while cranking.
The whole unit is fairly solid but the hollow base doesn't really provide the stability needed for stuffing. I had to clamp it down with a large C clamp.
The last thing which took some getting used to is loading the cylinder. It is somewhat a 2 person job. Although the cylinder removes easily for loading and cleanup, it does not stand up on it's own and is difficult to load when tipped while in the unit. A stand it set it in for load would be a nice feature. I may have to make one myself.
Shipping was fantastic! It arrived 5 days earlier than projected.
Overall, I believe this is a very good product. I compared to similar 15b stuffers and this one was more than 50% less for basically the same thing. If I can address the seal issue, I think this well be a great product for years to come.
