Marantz RC2001
I bought this remote for a slightly older Marantz reciever that I got a great deal on w/out it's factory remote... I wanted an on-screen display and Logictech remotes do not control Marantz products.
I got a good deal on it from Ebay considering it was 1/4 the list price and brand new. But what I got was basically a pain in the rear end of a remote. Going from controlling the amp to controling the TV is not a fun task, and of course you have to reverse the operation to once again control anything on the amp etc... I much rather just reach for the TV remote.
I was happy that I could program the remote myself using my computer until I found out that it is impossible to do it on a mac.... Shame on Marantz for building a $1200 amp with a $200 remote that you cannot program on a mac. What is this.... the 90's?
Considering that in this day and age I could probably find an app that I could control my home entertainment system w/ an ipod, and if I had OnStar I could start my car from India w/ my cell phone... this remote is not worth $200.
