Functional extender for Telstra Gateway Max modems as WiFi or wired access point
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a functional unit that can extend a Telstra Gateway Max modem in two ways - as a wireless extender or as a wired access point (if placed near an ethernet connection). The AC plug sits forward of the unit, so it can fit next to a standard AC plug (but not next to a 'brick' plug) on a double AC point. Set up is via a web interface. Note that the unit does have a distinct hum (like a quieter version of a PC fan) that has been reported on other forums. It is not noticeable if placed away from users or in noisy areas, buy you may hear it in a quiet area. It is noticeable enough that, if you were bothered by humming equipment, I would look elsewhere.
