singular volume both before and after 1960
this is vastly superior to the new versions, which split into volumes dividing at 1960 - an arbitrary & capricious date! further, many countries exist before and after 1960, and is a nuisance to be caused to use two large volumes whenst this one is just fine.

very useful for measuring printed charts and graphs with two axis
when a pdf file is from old hard copy, sometimes lines are not at proper angles or might have curves from pages sitting that way in a book. this enables accurate determination of the coordinates. excellent!

less heat than the 100 or higher wattage
provides ample light at 75w and much less heat than the 100 or 150. i used to have the higher ones, and was nearly blinded by too much light and would sweat from the additional heat. this saves on electricity too, comparatively.
