FOR WANT OF A HORSE-SHOE NAIL
A retired RAF logistician, I have to declare an interest having contributed some sections to Trevor's excellent book.
Military campaigns and ambitions have so often been made or broken by inadequate supply chains or fear of that inadequacy. Napoleon, Hitler to name just tw who got it wrong.
Trevor charts the evolution of the increasingly complex Royal Air Force supply chain from WW1 to 2014 in a fascinqting and highly readable way for both the military history amateur and those entering or already in the logistics business. Personal anecdotes add much to reader enjoyment.
He makes it clear that, as with so much in aviation, the Royal Air Force was streets ahead of other Air Forces, yes, including the USAAF, in its use of computerised application to logistics, only to lose that lead in the late 60s/early 70s through inadequate resouces being made available. Always that conundrum - weapons need to be state of the art but failure to fund logistics properly means those weapons lose effectiveness. Yet governments fail to fund both adequately.
An excellent read at a very reasonable price.

S9 better than expected
On the large side but fits my hand comfortably enough. Excellent battery life, speed and screen.Particularly like the finger print reader and dual SIM.
