Well worth the cost for a QUALITY piece of kit.
I had been looking for a BD player for some time and had read many reviews & "tech-specs" online. This seemed to offer a quality name as well as good user experiences. My confidence has been rewarded as this has proved to be a fine player. Only used DVDs so far, but the quality is, as many people have said, stunning. Hooked up via the twin phono sockets to the CD input on my AV amp, it plays CDs with no noticeable loss of quality against my old Technics player. I have also hooked the Digital phono up to the DVD input & surround sound works a treat. When you turn the player on, there is a small "firing up" noise, but thereafter it is silent in operation. If you have the latest HDMI-only AV amp, you will need to ensure that it passes the necessary info to your TV, as there is only one HDMI socket on this unit. Certainly not a problem for me, as this is just what I was looking for.

Vapextech 8 x AA 2900mAh NiMH rechargeable batteries with case
13 January 2017
The best out there, bar none.
Having got fed up with supposedly "big name" manufacturers supplying batteries which way too soon stop providing anywhere near the output they claim, I decided to go back to an old favourite. Many years ago I purchased some Vapextech PP9 batteries. Other than the charging time, (well, the fact that the charging indicator seemed to stay on for VERY long time) I really could not fault these. They certainly gave good service and lasted almost indefinitely. Having occasional bad bad issues, I needed a reliable power source for a TENS machine, and one of these ran it for over 7 hours on the trot. (Yes, I know I should only use this for 20 minutes, but ....) Anyway, to the AA version: These charged up in about the same time as the lesser examples but then, again, go on regardless. Admittedly, only in an MP3 recorder / player, one battery has been in use since Christmas. Listening once a week for an hour or so, it still has over 25% charge remaining, where the others simply died in the unit. So - they last a long time and they hold their charge whilst not in use. The other advantage over some rechargeable batteries is their size - lots of makers seem to supply them ever so slightly over-size, with the consequent difficulty in getting them into the holders. These, on the other hand, are a perfect fit on par with standard zinc batteries. Fair to say that I will NOT be looking anywhere else in the future for rechargeables.

VQ Rosie Lee DAB Radio + Speaker - Grey Leather & Green Grass Oak (Refurbished)

The best clock alarm I have ever owned.
For its size, this cannot be beaten for sound quality. Although the process for setting an alarm does involve quite a few button pushes, just follow the instruction booklet and it is easily done. Two alarms in case you want to wake at different time week / weekend. Tuned in very quickly from powering up the first time. (Just be aware that it does start up rather loudly first time!) Though mine is a short distance away on top of a cupboard, I find that it wakes me (usually!) on the lowest setting. What more would I like? Well, being picky, maybe a proper "soft-start" on the alarm - it does fade in, but only over a couple of seconds, so n nasty sudden loud noise to drag you awake. Would I recommend it? Well, I am just about to buy a second one, so there is your answer. Get it while it is still available; you will not be disappointed!
