Great Drive for the price
3 of 3 found this helpful When they say "White Label" they mean it, I have no idea who makes these drives. I can't tell you how reliable they are because I haven't owned them long enough yet, I can tell you they are fast and surprisingly quiet for enterprise drives. I bought four and am using them both internally, and externally in a toaster dock for backups I can take off line. All four drives received work fine in that regard. I'm planning to buy another four next month and upgrade the 2TB drives in my other workstation.
They do have to be formatted before use, they come with directions to do that. I did find that I could not boot my Dell workstation with an unformatted drive in it, it hangs. I had to put them in the toaster and start it up after the machine booted. I do not know if that is just a quirk of my workstation or if you will run into that with other machines.

Bracket for Space above Optical Drive
You need this part if you want to put an HDD in the space where the Optical Drive is. There is an area there for hard drives, but no rails or trays to attach them. This is the part you need for that. This model holds two 2.5" (laptop sized) drives, there is a different one that will hold one 3.5" drive which is basically the same thing. This has the power lead for the fan that attaches to the motherboard, you will need two SATA cables for the drives and a splitter for the power cable if you want to add two drives. Those aren't included.
