Peerless RP54801 Stem Unit Assembly, Seat, Spring, Bonnet Nut, and Washer

quick and mostly correct

I reused the original outer cap nuts and plastic washers as they are different than the supplied ones , but they were in good condition anyway and the nuts were gold plated. I have a gold tone Peerless bathroom, two handle unibody faucet. The supplied nuts would not tighten onto the outer threads of housing. They tried but slipped on the threads. The interior assembly appears to be identical and is functioning well with no leaks. I cleaned the interior of the housing to dissolve built up scale, which was a key procedure to do to get the old assembly out of the housing. Doing that really helped soften and dissolve build up until the interior was smooth and a consistent inner diameter. This helped the interior o ring to seat. I used no grease or Vaseline to lubricate the o ring as use of lubricants can possibly cause deterioration of synthetic rubber compounds. It went in smoothly and seated without leaks. The valve works smoothly and shuts off the water properly, with good, linear mid range control and gives full flow at full open position.

Great iPhone 6 protector!

Holds a bit of cash and a couple credit cards too. It can with a nice stylus too that I clip on the outside at the hinge for storage.
