BARKING DOG Alarm HomeSafe Security Watch System 1 REMOTE + 2 OUTDOOR SENSOR NEW
    08 May 2016
    Really cool product
I live in concrete house, so I needed to have the remote sensors because the microwave does not go thru the concrete and steel. I also wanted to conceal the receiver so that a person cannot see it sitting on a table or by a window. When arrived, one remote did not work, but seller has good customer service. This system works just like any other wireless alarm. You have choice of alarm sound, door bell sound or the dog. I bought this unit for the dog. The programming is spectacular! When you first trigger the alarm that dog begins to bark. It is never the same sequence. As you mill around and trigger the sensor more times the barking becomes more intense. Then, I noticed when you move out of range of the sensor the dog still yaps a few more times. It is a brilliant concept. The unit is Chinese (of course) and if you listen near the unit, one can tell it is not real dog, but when you are outside and hear it echoing thru the house, it is really believable. I tried several locations for the base unit and decided upon setting it on the back on top of a tall cabinet for electronics and DVDs. I have the speaker directed to the ceiling. The sound echoes thru all of the house. You cannot tell where is the dog. Important: Be sure to get the outdoor sensors recognizable by the ball shape at the top of the unit. (There are two kinds available and many vendors do not tell that they sell indoor sensors.)

Chamberlain CWA2000 Wireless Motion Alert System
    18 January 2016
    Whimpy alarm signal
I had a Dakota system for many years and it became damaged due to water intrusion. I thought this product would be similar. I liked the idea of smaller sensors. The alert signal is a small "beep" that is not different than other appliances in the house e.g. microwave or kitchen timer. It is also not loud enough to alert when sleeping, which is when my friend was robbed and assaulted. If the company provided terminals for an external alarm bell, then the product would be useful. As it is, the alert works if you are in the same room and there is no music or TV. I am sorry I bought this and plan to go back to Dakota

HomeSafe® Wireless Home Security White Motion Sensor 25 Ft Detection Window Door

Nice PIR sensor - too bad it is China made
These last about a year or so. I have three sensors around the house with the barking dog alarm. I suggest that you DO NOT buy the "outdoor model" because it is less weather proof than this model, corrodes battery terminals and insects enter in the gaps. I use this so-called "indoor model" at a covered entry and covered terrace. This model is 9 volt and is better than the "outdoor model that uses 1.5 volt batteries. This model stops working in a year or more and has gone psycho on me several times where it "eats" batteries. I will kill a 9 volt alkaline in about a week. I see the sensor continually alerting even without any movement. So, for the cheap price you get a sensor that works well for a while. I would prefer to pay more for a higher quality unit, but for what it is - a barking dog alarm - it is a decent idea and a passable product.
