Black Cat Puppet by Folkmanis - 2987

Slinky Malinki!

My son found the book Slinky Malinki by Lynley Dodd at the library for his cat loving sister. On another visit the library had this puppet to play with. We've never seen it back at the library since. My daughter had to have her own. She is allergic to cats and this is the most realistic looking cat out there. It's sleek, silky and cuddly. This puppet looks just like story book character and brings it to life. Does not disappoint!

Baby Duck and the Bad Eyeglasses by Amy Hest (1996)

I knew this book from checking it out at the library. My son liked it. I didn't care for the unrhyming sing-song Baby Duck would sing when he was unhappy having to wear glasses. I bought this book as a last minute find on ebay as a Christmas gift for my mom. She found out it was out-of-print but could order it for $14.99 as a used library copy. Ebay had it for $3.49 total. She wanted it for her daycare kids. I received an excellent library copy at a small price for a book my mom was thrilled to have. Like I said, I personally don't care for these Duck series but my son grasped the simplicity of the feelings being conveyed and wanted it read more than once. I do like ducks and the water color art is appealing.
