Falls apart – avoid
1 of 1 found this helpful The hook and loop mechanism of this strap are thermally fused from two pieces designated by the black and red parts of the strap respectively.. apparently, these are not fused at the sufficiently high temperature and the red and black pieces pull apart easily and after only a few uses, rendering the strap useless. Both of mine failed.

Pretty pedal, but not very grippy
0 of 1 found this helpful I have a bike built up on a Surly Pacer frame and it’s made of small-diameter chromemoly tubes which dictates a vintage Schwinn road bike aesthetic, hence my purchase of these pedals. I’m a very casual, recreational rider, not very athletic anymore-- so I can “get away” with this pedal. It is slippery compared to your typical “shin burger” screw-studded platform pedal. I used to have a dual-sided Shimano M324 SPD/flat pedal and the flat side of the Shimano was grippier and more comfortable than the MKS, although it was sometimes inconvenient to find the flat side. On the plus side, the MKS Sylvan pedal aces the vintage aesthetic I was after, and is beautiful to look at and decorates my Surly and works well enough for me, but I doubt it would be suitable for anybody who has even halfway serious biking aspirations/pretensions beyond pedaling in a leisurely way to the coffee shop.
