Faulty AAA batteries

In Jan of this year I purchased a box of (24) AAA Duracell batteries (Procell) with an expiration date of March 2025. After less than (1) year (19) have lost voltage sitting in the box. I checked them with my voltage meter after they failed to light up some puck lights I have. Voltages ranged from .3 to 1.2 volts. This is the second box of (24) that have proved to be defective way prior to the “use by” date.
