More than worth it at any price.
Prof. Greenberg is incredible. He is not only knowledgeable but entertaining. A brilliant communicator. I thought I already knew how to appreciate opera, but this genius showed me how much I was missing!

Hard Road
This is a conventional, Agatha Christie detective story. No phony Deus ex machina gimmicks here. All clues in sight. The surprise is simply that we weren't able to figure it out. In the process we learn alot about how cultural celebrations are planned and executed, and if we happen to be Oz fans, it is particularly satisfying. D'Amato is an American treasure, just as her object of hommage, L. Frank Baum. As a welcome appendix is a contribution from her son Brian concerning violence in children's fiction. Unfortunately he confuses Baum's vitriolic satire with advocacy of American Indian genocide, but his heart is in then right place, and we can forgive him for that. He has written an interesting essay that unfortunately misunderstands the options Baum had to combat the redneck violence characteristic of his subscribers, honest American pioneers. Together, this comprises a unique and gratifying literary experience.
