Fast Read--Great Beach Book!
1 of 1 found this helpful Win Garano is back as the Massachusetts State Police investigator--this time he is investigating a cold case involving a British woman with possible ties to the Boston Strangler. Once again he spars with DA Monique Lamont & her political agendas. The only drawback with this series is that they are relatively short compared to her Kay Scapetta novels and not as in depth with the storylines. As with her first novel in this series, the ends tie up a bit too quickly for my taste--not as intense as the Scarpetta series.

Pride & Prejudice
1 of 1 found this helpful Excellent adaptation of the Jane Austen novel--a bit different from the A&E version but the story still shines through. Keira Knightly is probably closer to Lizzie's true age & does a great job with the complexities of her character. Matthew Macfadyen is not the most handsome Darcy but has wonderful sex appeal & fabulous eyes! I did take offense to the modernization of the dialog at times but the overall production is striking.

Excellent DVD Collection--Multiple Hours of Enjoyment
1 of 1 found this helpful As a fan of Victorian & Regency literature, I eagerly awaited Masterpiece Classic's adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's Cranford. The story was excellent & it was such a pleasure to see such wonderful acting. The creme de la creme of English actors appeared in even the smallest parts! Her other works in the set are fabulous also. I bought this set as I have almost worn out my copy of North & South from repeated viewings! The ending scene is one of the most romantic scenes ever filmed ( even if it deviates from the novel) & Richard Armitage & Daniella Denby-Ashe are a couple with great chemistry. Wives & Daughters is a compelling & sweeping novel that will keep you quite interested in it's multiple characters. This is such a great set of DVD's to add to your collection.
