When we read a book from this genre, it helps to pull knowledge from those
George and Suzanne Brantley started The Rock of Gainesville, FL over twenty years ago from The Rock of Panama City, FL, founded by Apostle Nolan Ball. Part of the foundation of The Rock Churches is their belief in a "Five Fold Ministry" which establishes that Ephesians 4:11 regarding "Apostles", are titles for themselves (A.T. Robertsons Greek Dictionary refutes any claim of "Apostleship" outside of the First Century Church). Unfortunately, they do not read, or refuse to acknowledge other Scriptures like Acts 1:21-26, Mark 3:14-19, Luke 6:13-16, and Rev. 2:3; of which Christ himself speaks to the Church at Ephesus regarding Pseudo Apostles, and the "test" that Mr. Brantley fails. This is but the tip of the iceberg of slighted and manipulated Scripture throughout The Rock Church, designed to hoax a people into submission.
As to "God, Sex & Dating: God's Way Brings Peace and Joy, Blessing and Order", all one has to do is observe the divorce rate of The Rock of Gainesville's staff members; both past and present. Then you will notice that something is terribly wrong. George and Suzanne Brantley have personally sanctioned and facilitated multiple divorces since the churches founding. They may say they had nothing to do with those family break ups, but that does not reflect the true account. Where is "do what ever you want too, and we will support you..." found in Scripture? Yet, this was the advise given to one of their now divorced staff members.
God is the sole author of marriage.The Lord Jesus Christ confronted the Church leaders of His day, and rebuked them for twisting Scripture to suit their view of marriage and divorce. His authoritative pronouncements are quoted in Matt. 5:32, 19:1-12; Mark 10:19, to name but a few. In Matt. 19:6. Jesus declares "what God has joined together let no one(man) separate..." which is a Scripture Mr. Brantley has used during wedding ceremonies. Yet when that exact same Scripture was invoked by a congregant, who's staff member spouse sought a divorce, that congregant was"thrown under the bus" and the divorce proceeded. And to my knowledge, no divorced staff member at The Rock of Gainesville has ever been reconciled to their spouse.
It is clear, the above mentioned book could have been written by anyone of a "religious" persuasion. When we read a book from this genre, it helps to pull knowledge from those who are not "hearers only" but "doers" of the Word. In that, this book fails.
