NEW Clam Outdoor Winter Ice Fishing 9935 Drill Auger Conversion Kit

torque factor vs diameter and type of drill bit
When they tell you to use a 6 in auger bit maximum, and an 18v cordless drill minimum, that's exactly what they mean. I bought an 8 in fin-bore hand auger to use with my 18v ryobi lithium drill, after doing alot of review reading, I decided to try my strikemaster mora 6in auger bit first, just to be on the safe side. I had aproximately 1 2in of hard solid ice, I drilled 8 holes and was very impressed, so much torque. On my 8th hole, I snapped the body of the drill in half. The bit was sharp and really had a good bite, but the drill also did it's job except for the fact that it was a plastic body ,so really it doesn't make much difference what drill you use, 20,24,36 volt, the combination of cold weather and plastic sometimes doesn't mix,so really don't try to use a bigger auger bit than recommended. I am hoping that clam will come out with a new model that will have a gear reduction system like the kicker ll.

Fish love them but expensive and very poor quality, cheap plastic and soft weak treble hooks
The pros are its well balanced, great realistic attractive colors and the fish love it, and casts nice. The cons are numerous, they're over priced, the treble hooks are soft and thin allowing fish to destroy and straighten the hooks, you will loose many nice fish due to this, also I use these mainly for walleyes but even a small one will crush the lure, very cheaply made and hollow, they crack very easily which allows water to seep inside, ruining the sound of the rattles and the action, I love this lure cause they work great for walleyes but I shouldn't have to constantly repair them for whatI paid, I first replace all the trebles with Eagle claw 3x trebles and drain all the water from damaged lures and repair the cracks with super glue cause fish love this lure

    skeptical
Very well designed and light weight, I have the 4.5 inch model, I used it with an 18v lithium drill , it cuts very fast with very little effort but I'm wondering what I'm going to do when it gets dull. The complete head is the blades, it doesn't have separate replaceable blades, and since the head consists of two curved blades, I find myself wondering whether to use a file or how to use a sharpening stone on it, or do I have to order a new head . Surely it can't stay sharp forever. Now I wish I'd bought the fin-bore lll and the cordless drill adapter for less. I would have given it a 5 star rating if it had replaceable blades.
