Perfect for a small layout
This is perfect for a small layout with a mixture of dc and dcc equipped locomotives. As is, it can control 1 engine. With the add on handheld unit it can handle 6. Initially bought mine so I could turned down the volume of the engines and activate features, discovered the joy of programming acceleration and deaccelration and playing with sound effects. It’s perfect for my needs.

The Rolling Thunder receiver is novel and does enhance the performance of the BLI paragon 3and 4 steamers sound. Seems to work best with 1 locomotive
The Rolling Thunder receiver is novel and does enhance the performance of the BLI paragon 3and 4 steamers sound. Seems to work best with 1 locomotive at a time tho’ they do have instructions for dealing with more than 1. With 1 locomotive starts working soon as you turn it on. I have managed to confuse it when trying to run 2 locos. Need to read up more.
