Beautiful fictional story based on Elisabeth's own life experience
If you like missionary stories in far away places, you'll love this fictional story by beloved author Elisabeth Elliot. This book is the only fictional book she ever wrote. You'll enjoy her classic dry humor and attention to details. The story itself gives the reader a glimpse into the trials and challenges faced by a brand-new missionary, working alone in a challenging, almost impossible mission field--the mountain Indians in Ecuador. I won't give away the storyline, as the ending is a surprise, but the story is based on Elisabeth and Jim's own experience in their first years as missionaries. Not everything goes as we plan and God doesn't always make sense to us as humans. His ways are not our ways. So glad a publisher printed this updated copy with a beautiful cover to match the beautiful story.

Amazing story of a crazy home life growing up and how God changed him into a steady family man who now leads the most important family ministry in the world! These stories he tells of his childhood are just incredible. Easy reading, fascinating life!

Compelling life story of an amazing man
You would never guess this book was written by a man in his 90s, it is so well written (he did have help). Compelling story of not only his experience at Pearl Harbor, but also his entire life was amazing. I enjoyed this book completely myself, and also gave it as a gift.
