A good product, but perhaps not as versatile as the tag system
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a great product in a number of ways. Being based on a microchip means that there is no chance of tags being lost or problems with cats' collars falling off, etc. However this does have some disadvantages. Firstly, there can be no control over individual cats leaving the house, as there is no reader on the inside of the door. If they schedule says that the door is open, then any cat will be able to leave at that time, even those without a registered chip or tag. I don't believe there is any selectivity on incoming cats as well, however they must have a registered chip or tag to do so. The other doors that use RFID tags do have this selectivity, so you can restrict the door for individual animals.
That said, the door appears to work very well, and is certainly adequate for my purposes as I only have one cat anyway! I haven't had the door long enough to judge the battery life as yet.

Cheap, but issues with supplying current
Seems to have issues with current supply - when the laptop draws near the max, it drops out completely and needs a few seconds to turn back on.

Works properly, battery capacity seems to be as advertised.
Seems to work quite well, although obviously the longevity of the battery hasn't been confirmed yet.
